Welcome! Here we provide a few options for getting involved.

1. ATTEND OUR EVENTS 

Join the EATO Meetup Group to get notified about our monthly Q&As, workshops, socials, and more.

2. SIGN UP FOR THE NEWSLETTER

Email us at effective.altruism.toronto@gmail.com with the subject line: “EATO Newsletter” to hear monthly about our organization, current events, and highly promising opportunities.

3. JOIN OUR ONLINE DISCUSSION SPACES

The EATO Facebook group is the open space for our ~300 members to discuss current EA topics and questions. The EATO Slack features channels for talking about specific projects or co-working, among other options.

4. SIGN UP FOR A FOCUSED 1-ON-1 MEETING

Email us at effective.altruism.toronto@gmail.com with the subject line: “EATO chat” to schedule a conversation about careers, donations, goals for the year, and the EA community locally and globally.

Give a sentence or a few about what you’re interested in, so we know which community member to connect you with for a fruitful and energizing connection.

Browse the local groups directory to find and join other EA chapters that are local to you, or search through the EA Facebook Groups Directory to filter your search by platform, profession, place, or problem.

3. USE YOUR HOURS

80000hours.org provides top notch careers related research and guidance. They also offer career coaching, an in-depth podcast on the world’s most pressing problems, and a job board to help you address them.

4. USE YOUR MIND

Participate on the EA Forum to learn about the current conversations, ask questions, share your knowledge, and take part in the intellectual project of figuring out how to do good better.
